About Cabilao Island and the Visayas
Cabilao Island covers an area of approximately 8 square kilometers and is one of the smaller Philippine Islands. It is located in the Visayan Sea between the neighboring islands of Bohol and Cebu. The small island is inhabited by 3500 people; their livelihood mainly consists of fishery and agriculture.
 
Far away from mass tourism and commercialisation you may discover the originality of the country and its people. A walk to the nearby island lake offers an insight to the daily life on Cabilao. Furthermore the surroundings of the lake host many rare and shy kingfishers, herons and other birds.

How to get there?
How to get to Cabilao Island? The trip to Cabilao Island is not complicated and many ways lead to us. First you have to come to the Philippines and especially to Cebu City. Therefore, a few tips how to come to Cebu City.
 
There are many ways to come to Cebu. The first, and the easiest, is by direct flight. Cebu International Airport is served by various airlines like Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong, SilkAir (Singapore Airlines) from Singapore, Malaysian Airlines from Kuala Lumpur and Qatar Airways from Doha/Singapore.
The alternative is to fly to Manila and take a domestic flight to Cebu, or take a ferry. From the capital city flights to Cebu are offered several times a day. The boat trip takes about 20 hours, but sailing on a luxury liner through the Philippine archipelago is an adventure in itself.

Arrived at Cebu City you got different possibilities to transfer to Cabilao Island. We arrange the direct transfer for you. Or, if you would like to come on your own, you can reach Cabilao Island either via Argao or Tagbilaran.
 
Organized transfer
Inform us early enough and we will organize the direct transfer to Cabilao Island for you. All you have to do is come to Cebu City. You will be picked up at the airport in or the harbour by our staff and brought directly to Polaris Beach and Dive Resort on Cabilao Island.
 
Individual trip via Tagbilaran   Individual trip via Argao
Daily comfortable fast ferries like the Ocean Jet (Pier 1) and the Weesam Express (Pier 4) operate from Cebu City to Tagbilaran, the capital of Bohol. Upon arriving catch either a bus or a taxi direction Tubigon until Mocboc (Sandingan Island). Arrived at Mocpoc, an outrigger boat brings you to the neighbour island Cabilao.
 
On Tuesday and Saturday you can ride the public bus (south bus terminal) or a taxi, from Cebu City along the east coast of Cebu Island to Argao respectively the beach of Looc (100km, travelling time: approximately 2 hours). From there an outrigger boat will bring you directly to the Beach of Cabilao Island. This trip will last 45 minutes.
     
Another possibility is to fly with a domestic Airline from Cebu to Tagbilaran. It is advisable to book the flight in time. Note that the all-over travel time including check-in and check-out takes longer than the one described with the Supercat.    
     
Hint!
However you should not forget to take a sweater with you, because the ferry and the airplane are usually very well air-conditioned.
